Be Strong Today
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him,” (2 Chronicles 32:7 ESV).
Be strong today!
As you get ready for work, for school, or whatever you plan to be doing today and this week, remind yourself to be strong today. Peter warns us that, “the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour,” (2 Peter 5:8).
Be strong today in your resistance. The devil will always be there to tempt you. Sounds very difficult, right? Well, good news… James tells us that if we submit to God (we put all of our faith, all of our hope, and all of our trust in God) and we resist the devil, then the devil will flee from us.
We are not alone in this; God is always there for us. In fact, Paul tells the Philippians to, “not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God,” (Philippians 4:6).
When we feel weak, we must not let that be an excuse to give into the sinful temptations that Satan places into our lives. We read again in Romans 8:26 that, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
Even though we may become weak at times, God is there to strengthen us.
