Your Daily Manna

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 4:4-7).

Nobody is perfect. Even after being baptized and becoming one in Christ, there are things that each Christian has to work on. One of those things that many Christians struggle with is taking all of their cares and anxieties to God.

There is a false preconception that many people have which tells them that once you come to Christ and are baptized, life is perfect. However, this is simply not the case. The peace that we seek from God is something that we must seek each day.

Just as the Israelites were not able to store manna for future days but had to gather it each day, so it is with the peace and power of God. The daily collecting of manna kept the Israelites aware of their dependence on God. If God were to give us permanent peace, then we may fall into self-sufficiency. God desires that we come to Him each and every day for His power and comfort.

Each and every day, take time to draw from the strength, power, and peace of God.
